What is Registered Massage Therapy and How is it Beneficial to my Health?

Registered Massage Therapy (RMT) is a therapeutic massage designed to treat a variety of pains and ailments throughout the human body. For many years, athletes have been using Registered Massage Therapy as a method of preventative care. It is safe and can be effective for people of all ages.

All BC RMTs are governed by The College of Massage Therapists of British Columbia (CMTBC). In order to be RMT certified, Therapists spend thousands of hours studying in the fields of anatomy and physiology. Much of their studies are also focused on developing specialized massage techniques that assist in rehabilitation of injuries from physical activity or car accidents. Patients who use Massage Therapy on a regular basis notice day-to-day mobility and function of their body is greatly improved. In addition, those with injury or pain within their body will notice acceleration in the healing and recovery process. The overall goal is to help patients lead a more enjoyable, pain free, quality of life.

Registered Massage Therapy at ARU.

Did you know at Aru we have Registered Massage Therapy, available 7 days a week? Visit one of our 4 RMT’s and claim the appointment through your extended Health Benefits.

Unlike most Massage clinics, at Aru we provide patients with the use of our complimentary steam rooms with every appointment. The use of steam rooms prior to Massage greatly improves overall muscular relaxation, allowing your therapist to get to the root of your pain in a much quicker time frame. We recommend you come 30 minutes prior to your scheduled Massage to relax in one of our steam rooms and get the most out of your RMT Massage.

Each Massage patient is also welcome to use the rest of our amenities, including the use of showers, our relaxation lounge and all the skin, hair care and makeup necessities to get you ready for the remainder of your day.

Extended Health Benefits

Extended Health Benefits – RMT Massage is covered by most Extended health plans, with up to 100% coverage in some plans.

If your employer provides you with medical benefits, you are most likely covered for RMT massages, either by percentage or by a total annual amount. Most plans do not need a referral from you physician, just make your appointment, your coverage is included.

That means, if your employer provides you with a plan, you may be covered for up to 100% of the cost of any registered massage therapy you receive. Don’t let this go wasted, be sure to use your RMT allocation. Ask us how!
